About the Position: This position is in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). Employees occupying DCIPS positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code Title 10 and Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located at U.S. Army Contracting Command, at Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD.
Duties
Administers the Personnel Security program in accordance with current laws, regulations, and policies.
Review requests for security clearances, reviews position requirements, recommends access and position sensitivity levels for the position to determine security clearance investigations and clearance requirements .
Plans, develops, and implements security policies and procedures to ensure that classified material is received, transmitted, handled, stored, and accounted for from the time of receipt until dispatch, return or destruction.
Serves as Alternate Special Security Representative (SSR) responsible for managing a Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility (SCIF).
Makes recommendations and issues guidance to the staff and contractor personnel concerning classification of information, classification of work being conducted, and proper marking, etc.
Implements, manages, and monitors security requirements to maintain the accreditation for the facility, to include properly opening and closing of the secure area, as well as managing and maintaining SAP level networks and communication suites.
Serves as Alternate Government SAP Security Officer (GSSO) responsible for managing a Special Access Program Facility (SAPF).
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Two year trial/probationary period may be required.
- In accordance with Change 3 to AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, individual must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
- May be required to travel up to, but not limited to 10% of the time.

To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as experience administering personnel security actions, to include but not limited to: reviewing requests for security investigations/reinvestigations; adjudicating results of local record check, initiating investigation requests through the Personnel Security Investigations Portal (PSIP), and submitting interim Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) security clearance requests; planning and developing Staff Assistance Visits; and formulating and issuing Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) implementing instructions to ensure compliance with SCI guidance and policy.

Specialized experience is progressively responsible intelligence-related security work directly related to the position being filled. Creditable experience may include previous military experience, experience gained in the private sector or in another government agency as long as it was at a level at least equivalent to the next lower band in the series.
Education
