About the Position: This position is in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). Employees occupying DCIPS positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located at the 83C 704th Military Intelligence Brigade S3, Fort Meade, MD 20755-5930.
Duties
Works as a member the G1 staff to execute on behalf of the Commander 704th Military Intelligence Brigade, who makes assignments by defining program objectives to be achieved and resources available to meet mission requirements.
Serves as the Safety and Occupational Health Manager for 704th Military Intelligence Brigade with responsibility for planning, managing, and administering a safety and occupational health program.
Serves as the MSC Commander’s technical expert to identify, analyze, and provide risk management control measures for life-threatening hazards.
Deploys with Area of Operation units and other operations as tasked by higher headquarters.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Two year trial/probationary period may be required.
- In accordance with Change 3 to AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, individual must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
- Must be willing to undergo and successfully complete a counterintelligence-scope polygraph examination with No Deception Indicated (NDI) on a pre-appointment and periodic basis.
- May be required to perform TDY up to 10% of the time on an annual basis.
- All INSCOM employees may be subject to extended TDY or worldwide deployments during crisis situations to perform missionessential functions as determined by management.
- Possess or obtain CP-12 Level Certification within 12 months of appointment in accordance with Safety ATCEDS guidelines.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GG/GS-11).
