About the position: This position will be assigned to the Accounting Office on McConnell AFB.
The position is pat-time 20 hours but you may be required to work up to 40 hours.
Duties
Reviews Consolidated Cost Center Reports for accuracy and completeness; verifies amounts of deposits on Consolidated Activity Reports (CAR) to amount shown on corresponding deposit slip(s); verifies charge tickets to total in-house charges; prepares batch receivable clerk for posting. Records summarized data on sales/receipts to general CAR. Assures that cash receipts are deposited. Numbers and posts daily deposits made by Program for submittal through Services Agency Information System (SAIS) in Joint Base San Antonio, Texas. Keeps manual records on gratuities due employees; forwards to payroll biweekly. Verifies procurement requests for amounts due contract personnel when presented. Maintains control record for dishonored/returned checks and reconciles data with the general ledger. Receives dishonored/returned checks, accomplishes redemption forms, adds charges and distributes to appropriate NAFI. Posts dishonored checks to the control record. Initiates action for military pay orders on unredeemed checks delinquent over six weeks. Initiates action for approval to write off accounts when collection action produces negative results. Furnishes technical advice to operating personnel regarding income reporting procedures and proper completion of forms. Advises supervisor of inadequate operation of the internal control system and safeguarding assets. Acts as back up for control of controlled forms. Maintains the day to day paperwork for the Private Organization. Performs other related duties as assigned/directed.

Qualifying Experience:
Responsible clerical office work of any kind that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of this position. Demonstrate arithmetic aptitude and ability, accuracy and attention to details and the ability to compile and record data. Progressively responsible experience in work which requires knowledge of established double entry accounting procedures and techniques. Must be able to satisfactorily complete a Tier 1 investigation.

Education
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution.
FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program. It is your responsibility to provide such evidence when applying.
