The purpose of this position is to serve as a Social Media Specialist in the Office of the Chief Communications Office (OCCO) to plan, develop, and provide public communication through available social media channels and other online means.

This position is telework eligible per agency and business unit discretion/policy.

Specialized Experienceis experience that has equipped applicants with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the federal service. For this position, the next lower grade level is a GS-11.
Specialized experience for this position includes:
Experience publishing dialogue-worthy social media content for an organization, company, or government agency on a daily basis which solicits feedback and opinions from the target audience.;
Experience analyzing effective use of social media on behalf of an organization, including using analytical techniques to assess effectiveness of a social media program and using that data to prepare and deliver reports to management;
Experience developing plans and strategies to use social media to promote an organization's goals and objectives, and crafting policies and guidelines for its use in the organization.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
