This position is in the United States Marshals Service (USMS), Central District of California (C/CA). The incumbent serves as a second level supervisor overseeing all administrative matters for the district which is comprised of several sub-offices. This position is located in the Central District of California, Los Angeles, CA.

Duties

As a Administrative Officer at the GS-0341-14 grade level, some of your typical work assignments may include, but are not limited to, the following: Makes decisions on work issues presented by subordinate supervisors, subordinate staff and contractors. Evaluates subordinate supervisors and leaders, serves as reviewing official for subordinate non-supervisory employee's performance appraisals. Develops a program aimed utilizing accounting and fund control systems to maintain proper financial balance. Serves as the federal appropriations law and financial policy subject matter expert for the district. Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or National.
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug screening and background investigation.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a favorable determination of suitability for a Public Trust position.
  • May be required to successfully complete a trial/probationary period.
  • May be required to successfully complete a supervisory probation period.
  • Status Candidates must meet time-in-grade requirements (52 weeks at the next lower grade level).

Qualifications

TIME-IN-GRADE REQUIREMENTS: Merit Promotion and Veterans Employment Opportunity Act (VEOA) Status applicants must provide an SF50 Notice of Personnel Action that indicates proof of status and time-in-grade eligibility. The SF50 must include the position, title, series, grade, step, tenure, type of service (Competitive or Excepted) and career status (career or career-conditional). No award SF50 will be accepted as proof of status and time-in-grade eligibility. One year at the GS-13 grade level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-14 grade level. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: To be considered minimally qualified for this position, you must demonstrate that you have the education and/or experience required for the grade level(s) to which you apply. To qualify at the GS-14 grade level, you must meet the following: Specialized Experience: Experience that equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. You must have at least one year (12 months) of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service performing the following duties: Managing a program area's financial and budgetary actions such as budget preparation and execution, travel expenses and reimbursement, and contracts; Conducting studies and analyses to address specific management issues; Analyzing procedures to identify more efficient and effective methods for accomplishing program objectives;and Coordinating personnel related functionswith a human resources office to ensure compliance with areas such as time and attendance management, awards, and personnel action requests.
