This position is located in a district or area office within one of the six (6) regional offices (RO) of the Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP). The purpose of OFCCP is to enforce, for the benefit of job seekers and wage earners, the contractual promise of affirmative action and equal employment opportunity required of those who do business with the Federal Government.

Duties
Major Duties:
This position is established as Deputy Regional Director (DRD).
Directs, coordinates, and administers contract compliance programs in the region and in representing the OFCCP on all matters within the region.
Plans, formulates, develops, and executes region-wide programs and policies to carry out the mission and objectives of the OFCCP.
Provides executive direction to the subordinate OFCCP offices within the region.
Makes periodic and comprehensive evaluations of program goals and objectives consistent with national policy and legal restrictions requiring substantial initiative and creative development.
Exercises a broad delegated program and administrative authority in determinations relative to the proper accomplishment of the OFCCP functions of the region.
Ensures appropriate program emphasis and accomplishment of priorities in relation to overall program objectives.
Makes recommendations concerning the desirability of changes in organizational structure and the particular changes to be effective, with great latitude to place such changes into effect with prior approval as may be needed to accomplish the program mission.
Provides leadership and guidance in maintaining contacts within the region.
Assures that investigations and compliance reviews are thorough, even-handed, and conducted consistently with national office (NO) policies and procedures.
OFCCP enforces E.O. 11246, as amended; Section 503 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, as amended, and 38 U.S.C. 4212 of the Vietnam Era Veterans' Readjustment Assistance Act of 1974, as amended. - Candidate required to obtain the necessary security/investigation level.
- Requires a probationary period if the requirement has not been met.
- Appointment to this position may require a background investigation.
Qualifications
Specialized Experience is the experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSA's) to perform the duties of the position successfully, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower grade level.

Applicants must have 52 weeks of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, GS-14, in the Federal Service or private sector. Examples of qualifying specialized experience:
Directing and coordinating the administration of compliance investigative programs and the evaluation of program policies, mission, and goals.
Conducting operational analyses of compliance/investigative programs.
Developing or assisting in the processes and procedures of Executive Orders and Acts relative to investigations and/or enforcement that prohibit employers from discrimination.
Education
