You will serve as an IT Specialist (CUSTSPT) in the NLSC.

Duties

You will monitor IT services and perform preventive maintenance and minor administration of the same to keep the systems optimized. You will maintain and monitor network multi-function devices (MFDs). You will assist in set up of office teleconferencing and audio/video equipment. You will provide initial audio/visual training. You will perform test of digital court reporting equipment located within courtrooms to ensure systems work properly prior to start of court proceedings. You will advise supervisor of improperly functioning equipment.

Requirements

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.

Qualifications

GS-11 Level: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Providing technical assistance to customers to minimize disruptions of computer operations, troubleshooting, escalation, and tracking of information technology (IT) problems for both Navy/Marine Corps Intranet (NMCI) and non-NMCI devices (including, but not limited to, Microsoft Surface Pros and Hubs); 2) Broadcasting or providing status of critical systems via network broadcast calls, messaging notifications, and/or web page to eliminate significant numbers of trouble calls from uninformed customers; and 3) Performing tests of digital court reporting equipment located within courtrooms to ensure systems work properly prior to start of court proceedings; advises supervisor of improperly functioning equipment. GS-09 Level: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Maintaining and monitors network multi-function devices (MFDs); 2) Routing unresolved problems to appropriate specialists for resolution; 3) Maintaining complete status of trouble calls for reference and reporting purposes; and 4) Performing a variety of clerical and administrative reporting duties in connection with the court proceedings including, but not limited to, the recording of proceedings. Your experience must reflect skill in the following areas: attention to detail, customer service, oral communication, and problem solving. In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:

Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree
or
3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree


Education Substitution for Experience at the GS-09 Level:
Master's degree or equivalent graduate degree
OR
2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a master's degree or equivalent graduate degree
