This position is part of the Interior Business Center (IBC), Financial Management Directorate (FMD), IBC FMD Accounting Operations Division. The incumbent will be responsible for providing technical support to a variety of accounting and financial function teams supporting Interior Business Center (IBC) and external clients.

Duties

Process purchase orders, contracts, vendor payments, foreign vendor payments, obligations, reallocations and automated disbursements in Virtual Employee Network(VEN), Financial and Business Management System(FBMS) and Oracle Federal Financials(OFF). Record entries as a Data Entry Operator (DEO) into treasury systems such as Secure Payment System (SPS) and International Treasury System (ITS). Provide customer service duties by providing regular communication and data research requests with both internal and external clients. Ensure accuracy of transaction accounting codes; verify service material payment provisions, authorize funds availability and cost authorities; problem solve and correct errors; and verify appropriate regulations. Assist with preparing reports and research, by gathering, reconciling, and interpreting financial data to assist in closing accounting data.

At the GS-06 level, you must meet the following qualification: One year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-05 level. Specialized experience is that which has equipped the applicant with the competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. Specialized experience for this position is defined as utilizing and applying financial regulations to correct routine accounting errors and experience with data input into an automated financial system. At the GS-07 level, you must meet the following qualification: One year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-06 level. Specialized experience is that which has equipped the applicant with the competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. Specialized experience for this position is defined as utilizing and applying financial or accounting rules and regulations to input and research data, verify data output and resolve data and system errors in an authorized financial system; interpret and apply budget and financial regulations and laws, and/or requirements to ensure compliance, experience utilizing financial systems. Only experience and education obtained by the closing date of this announcement will be considered. TIME-IN-GRADE: Current career or career-conditional employees of the Federal government, or former career or career-conditional employees, who have a break in service of less than one year, are required to meet the time-in-grade restriction of one year of Federal experience at the next lower grade, with few exceptions outlined in 5 CFR 300.603(b). Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
