The Office of Accident Investigation and Prevention is the principal organization within the FAA with respect to aircraft accident investigation and all activities related to the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB). Our mission is to make air travel safer through investigation, data collection, risk analysis, and information sharing.
Duties
Performs multiple, varying, and complex assignments under the limited direction of a manager, project/program manager, team leader, or more experienced technical specialist. Reviews and analyzes safety data from multiple sources to be able to identify potential safety issues and emerging and changing risks, and make recommendations to correct or prevent safety issues. May act as a contributing specialist on large work activities or as a team leader for single or small work activities.

- US Citizenship is required.
- Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959.

Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position.Specialized experience includes: Experience leading teams and conducting risk assessments using safety management principles and providing technical advice and guidance to management officials regarding safety management issues, regulations, policies, processes, and procedures, and experience identifying potential safety issues.Qualifications must be met by the closing date of this vacancy announcement.
