You will serve as an Engineering Technician in the Public Works Division of NAV FACILITIES ENGINEERING COMMAND SE.

Duties

You will collect test data, analyze results, and relate findings to specific operability issues You will monitor energy usage data to determine corrective action in support of energy cost reduction. You will brief management to provide programs status, updates or other business information. You will serve as engineering support to prepare scope or design requirements, specifications, and cost estimates for contractual bids.

Requirements

  • You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

  • This is a bargaining unit position.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-09) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector as a Engineering Technician performing the following duties: 1) Modifying standard practices and adapting equipment or techniques to solve a variety of utility systems problems.; 2) Applying standard practices of related technical field and shop work to utilities engineering design; 3) Reviewing and monitoring large scale utility construction projects to ensure compliance with applicable objectives, standards, and requirements; 4) Interpreting utility engineering plans, specifications, and drawings to include preparing and delivering appropriate reports and summaries to engineering personnel; and 5) Providing oversight to ensure quality throughout construction or operation of equipment and facilities.
