About the Position: Fort Jackson is a highly diverse installation that is viewed as the flagship of all U.S. Army Training Centers, training fifty eight percent of all Soldiers entering the Army and is a highly coveted destination of choice for Soldiers, Army Civilians, and their Families. Located adjacent to Columbia, S.C.

Duties

Serves as advisor to the supervisor and Garrison Commander concerning developing and implementing emergency standards, regulations, practices, training, and procedures. Assists the supervisor to coordinate support agreements for the CBRNE installation preparedness program. Assesses, inspects, or evaluates emergency management processes, plans, standards operating procedures or guidance. Plans, organizes, directs, and coordinates installation and mission activities. Maintains CBRNE Installation Protection Program (IPP) and Installation Support Team (IST) equipment. Develops plans to ensure the capability to continue essential functions during all hazards in accordance with Homeland Security Exercise and Evaluation Program (HSEEP).

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position.
  • This position is subject to a pre-employment screening, and random testing thereafter, to include testing based on reasonable suspicion and testing due to direct involvement with an on-duty accident.

  • This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 10% of the time.
