This position is located at US Mint,Headquarters - Protection Directorate- duty station Glynco, GA.
As a Supervisory Police Officer (National Training Coordinator), you will support the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC), in Glynco, GA. The NTC schedules, coordinates, supervises, conducts and evaluates law enforcement training at the FLETC and other external locations for United States Mint Police law enforcement personnel.
Duties
As a Supervisory Police Officer (National Training Coordinator), you will:
Coordinate and supervise training at the FLETC and field site Training Officers.
Coordinate and lead national training related to emergency programs where police are expected to direct and/or effect immediate and decisive action and report promptly all threat conditions.
Conduct periodic and unannounced inspections of local training programs to ensure full compliance of Treasury, Mint and other federal policies and guidance relating to police training.
Assist in the formulation and development of personnel training needs, scheduling training based on manpower availability; and as necessary, participates or assists in training programs afforded to police personnel, including on-the-job indoctrination of officers.
Qualifications

The experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. Specialized Experience:
For the TR-12 (GS-12 equivalent), you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the TR-10 (GS-11 equivalent) grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position includes:
Supervising in a law enforcement training environment that has provided knowledge and instruction in the areas of laws, regulations, law enforcement operations, practices and techniques as well as involved responsibility for assessing, contributing to and administering an inspection program for police operations.
In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable:
For the TR-12 (GS-12 equivalent) you must have been at the TR-10 (GS-11 equivalent)level for 52 weeks.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
All employees must wear face masks while on MINT property when required by CDC and Federal guidelines.
This position is designated as emergency essential.
The incumbent must be ready and able to deploy as required in support of varied contingencies and under severe and austere conditions. The incumbent may deploy for brief periods during a contingency event.
A one-year probationary period may be required.
A one year supervisory or managerial probationary period may be required.
Must successfully complete a background investigation.
Complete a Declaration for Federal Employment to determine your suitability for Federal employment, at the time requested by the agency.

Shift Work: This facility operates on a 24 hour per day, three-shift basis, 5 days a week. Work schedules may vary and assignment to a specific shift cannot be guaranteed. The successful applicant must be available to work on all three shifts on a rotational basis.
May be required to wear safety clothing and/or equipment required by the position. This may include equipment belt, body armor, riot gear, etc.
All applicants tentatively selected for this testing designated position will be required to submit to urinalysis to screen for illegal drug use prior to appointment and random drug testing while the position is occupied.
Carry and use a firearm. Maintaining firearm proficiency is also mandatory. You will be ineligible to occupy this position if at any time you have been convicted of a misdemeanor crime of domestic violence, unless you received a pardon or your conviction was expunged or set aside [Lautenberg Amendment - 18 U.S.C. § 922(g) (9)].
Possess a valid state motor vehicle operator's license upon appointment OR within 90 days of appointment (as appropriate) and maintain a valid license while you occupy the position.
Tattoos/Branding/Intentional Scarring- Full sleeve tattoos are permissible as long as they are not deemed offensive, racist or sexist. Visible tattoos, branding or intentional scarring, or body art on the head, face, neck or scalp are prohibited. Any visible tattoos that are offensive, extremist, indecent, racist or sexist are prohibited. Visible body piercings while on duty and/or in uniform, with the exception of agency approved earrings are prohibited.
Complete or have previously completed training at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC) in Glynco, GA.
