Serves as a Safety and Occupational Health Specialist (OSHS) for the Technical Operations, Technical Services Organization with overall authority and responsibility for compliance with federal, state and local Environmental and Occupational Safety and Health regulations. Incumbent reports to the Technical Operations, Technical Services Organization, Environmental Occupational Safety and Health (EOSH) Support Operations Group (EOSG), ESOG Program Support Center.
Duties
Analyzes jobs, processes, products, or other systems to determine the risks to employees. Recommends modifications to workplaces to control or eliminate hazards. Inspects or surveys workplaces for compliance with established safety and occupational health policies or standards and to identify potential new hazards. Reviews project plans and specifications for facilities and equipment to ensure compliance with established EOSH standards. Conducts occupational safety evaluation of hazardous conditions and develops, recommends and assists with implementing abatement plans.
Requirements
- US Citizenship is required.
- Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959.

Qualifications
To qualify for this position at the FV-H level you must demonstrate in your application that you possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to FV-G, FG/GS-10/11.Specialized experience includes: Experience inspecting safety or occupational health program elements; working with or knowledge of FAA programs such as the Workplace Inspection Tool.
