Chief of Staff (COS) and supports the Assistant Secretary (AS) and Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary (PDAS) to provide guidance and direction to all organizations in OEI. The COS serves as the OEI's central coordination point for all high-level discussions and negotiations involving establishment or implementation of Department-level policies, practices, management, and operational activities to carry out the mission of OEI.
Duties
The position is located in the Office of Enterprise Integration and reports to the Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary. The responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Assists the AS and PDAS OEI with the oversight, technical operations, and development of policy, procedures, regulations, and processes for OEI business lines.
Coordinates as appropriate or necessary with executive leaders and service directors in OEI to develop procedures and operational processes designed to achieve short and long-term goals that are consistent with the overall OEI's and VA's goals and objectives.
Develops and recommends effective and efficient internal management controls and administrative practices to eliminate duplication and overlapping functions and to ensure maximum utilization of resources.
Exercises delegated signature authority for the AS and PDAS judiciously to commit the support and concurrence of the AS and PDAS in assigned areas and on specific projects.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
KSA 1: Demonstrated knowledge and work experience in leading strategy development, change
management, programmatic execution, and the ability to influence and champion ideas
effectively in a highly complex organizational environment and across multiple and diverse
groups.
KSA 2: Demonstrated knowledge and work experience managing human resources, finance, facilities,
assets, information technology, telecommunication and other administrative functions.
