Duties
Serves as the principal office assistant, performing various administrative and clerical duties in support of the Chief of Staff and the Site Commander.
Maintains the Site Commander’s daily calendar and conference room calendars; coordinates meeting arrangements, appointments, meetings and/or conferences based on knowledge of the Commander's commitments, priorities, workload, etc.
Performs Protocol duties for visiting dignitaries; builds agendas and itineraries for site visits;
coordinates logistical support and liaison with DLA Headquarters, the visiting agency and the local base protocol offices; builds Welcome kits and binders
Makes extensive travel arrangements, such as transportation, hotel/government quarters reservations, and travel orders and vouchers based on travel intentions, known preferences of the traveler, and in accordance with travel regulations.
Serves as Alternate Defense Travel Administrator (DTA).
Reviews and processes incoming and outgoing correspondence, reports, and other materials submitted for the Commander’s signature.
Establishes, monitors suspense dates, brings to the Chief of Staff’s attention those that cannot be met by requested date or when there is a conflict and request extensions.
Receives telephone calls, greets visitors and ascertains the nature of the calls or visits, screening callers or visitors to appropriate staff on the basis of knowledge of programs or operations.
Develops, establishes, updates, and maintains office procedures and records/files of various types to ensure effective and efficient operation of the office in accordance with the DLA Records Management Policy.
Uses multiple office automation software to produce a wide range of documents that require complex formats, such as graphics or tables within text, editing/reformatting electronic drafts, and updating or revising existing databases/spreadsheets.
Provides administrative support to include note taking, meeting set up, tear down, providing handouts and electronic support, i.e., coordination of Video Teleconference (VTC), slide presentations and teleconferencing coordination.

Qualifications
To qualify for a Secretary (OA), your resume and supporting documentation must support:
A. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. To qualify at the GS-07 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-06 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military or private sector. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade (General Schedule (GS) positions only), time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes:
Establishing and tracking Command suspense's.
Scheduling, managing, and maintaining executives' calendars and creating appointments.
Experience with Military Protocol Experience making travel arrangement and using automated travel systems.
Reviewing internal and external correspondence for accuracy.
Using a personal computer and numerous computer programs and word processing equipment, including Microsoft Office applications.
AND
B. Typing Proficiency Requirement: Must be able to type at least 40 words per minute.

GRADUATE EDUCATION: One academic year of graduate education is considered to be the number of credits hours that your graduate school has determined to represent one academic year of full-time study. Such study may have been performed on a full-time or part-time basis. If you cannot obtain your graduate school's definition of one year of graduate study, 18 semester hours (or 27 quarter hours) should be considered as satisfying the requirement for one year of full-time graduate study.
FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show that the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
