This position is in Information Governance and Compliance (CGI), Compliance and Governance (CG), Compliance Audit and Risk (C), Bonneville Power Administration (BPA).
The purpose of this position is to serve as a Government Information Specialist responsible for planning, organizing, conducting, and leading governance and compliance projects and initiatives to determine and improve the functions and activities of the Information Governance, Privacy and Information Collection programs.
Duties
As a Government Information Specialist, you will:
Plan, organize, and lead or conduct projects, studies, and analyses of considerable scope and depth critical to the resolution of information governance and compliance issues.
Conduct analysis of management practices and procedures; management controls and reporting; systems and controls; management of privacy assessments and breach response; information collection assessments; and existing and proposed processes, procedures, organizational structures, administrative methods, and supervisory and management practices.
Plan and lead or independently carry out one-of-a-kind projects, studies, and analyses involving isolating and defining issues or conditions where several efforts and related studies must be coordinated and integrated. Uses imitative and resourcefulness in researching and implementing new and improved methods and procedures to resolve information governance and compliance issues within BPA.
Serve as a BPA expert and point of contact on Information Governance, Privacy, and Information Collection matters.
Lead efforts to measure, evaluate and continuously improve the Information Governance, Privacy, and Information Collection programs critical to fulfilling the bureau's legal and regulatory obligations under the Federal Records Act, the Privacy Act, and the Paperwork Reduction Act.
Provide strategic input and analysis on assessing and mitigating risks to BPA's information assets, specifically personally identifiable information
Qualifications
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
A qualified candidate's resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level, GS-12, in the Federal service.
Specialized Experience is defined as: (1) Implementing local privacy policy guidance, evaluating work processes to ensure compliance with organization privacy policy requirements, assessing suspected privacy breaches, and identifying risk mitigation actions; and (2) Planning and conducting privacy program evaluations to formulate and recommend program changes.
"Experience" refers to paid and unpaid experience. Examples of qualifying unpaid experience may include: volunteer work done through National Service programs (such as Peace Corps and AmeriCorps); as well as work for other community-based philanthropic and social organizations. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills; and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
