This position is located in Department of Homeland Security (DHS), U.S. Coast Guard (USCG), Director of Operational Logistics, Base Alameda, Personnel Support Department, Transportation Division, Alameda, CA.
Duties
You will serve as the Transportation Officer with the overall responsibility to support the procurement of transportation, storage and related services for personal property of Coast Guard (CG), DHS, and Department of Defense civilian and military personnel. You will also be responsible for the Satellite Personal Property Processing Office located at Coast Guard Training Center Petaluma, CA.
Requirements

- Males born after 12/31/1959 must be registered for Selective Service.
- This position requires a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI).
- First time supervisors are required to serve one-year probationary period.
- Position requires COR Level II certification within one year of hire.
Qualifications
Applicants must possess at least one full year of related specialized (transportation) experience equivalent to the GS-11 level in the federal service. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work.
Examples of specialized experience includes: applying the principles and practices of Traffic Management; developing, managing and administering policies, plans and procedures and internal control systems; directing their implementation to providing a continuing efficient, effective and economical operation, to ensure the efficient use of resources; accomplishing long-range planning and identifying shifts and trends in demand for products and services; implementing appropriate traffic management policies, procedures, methods, practices and techniques pertaining to the transportation of personal property.
