This ELECTRONICS MECHANIC LEADER position is located in the Joint Forces Headquarters-State, Logistics Directorate (J-4), Surface Maintenance Facility and is part of the CA CSMS Long Beach.

Duties

THIS IS A T32 EXCEPTED SERVICE, TEMPORARY PROMOTION NOT TO EXCEED ONE YEAR. Selectee may be non-competitively promoted permanently if/when funding becomes available or position becomes unencumbered. Selectee may be non-competitively extended up to 5 years if/when funding becomes available or position becomes unencumbered. The primary purpose of the ELECTRONICS MECHANIC LEADER, WL-2604-11, is to serve as a working leader of three or more Electronics Mechanics, WG-2604-11. Performs duties such as field and limited sustainment maintenance and repair of a variety of electronics equipment and complete operational systems. Provides technical guidance and specialized team leadership to lower-grade employees.

General Experience: Experience or training which demonstrates the ability to lead other technicians engaged in the inspection, installation, maintenance and repair of electronic equipment. Ability to read and interpret circuit diagrams, electrical blue prints, schematics, and wiring diagrams, and to assign work and monitor progress. ELECTRONICS MECHANIC LEADER, WL-2604-11: In addition to the journeyman level must have 24 months experience or training which demonstrates the knowledge of and skill in the repair of electronics equipment sufficient to organize and direct the work of others; Experience which demonstrates an applicant's ability to provide guidance to others in troubleshooting malfunctions; Experience which demonstrates an applicant's ability to instruct others in the use of precision measuring and test equipment; Experience in interpreting technical publications and providing guidance to others.
