About the Position: The U.S. Army Contracting Command was established on March 14,2008. The mission of the ACC is to oversee more than $85 billion in contracts annually and focus on maintaining and improving the Army's ability to respond globally in support of the warfighter's needs.
Duties
Analyze the requirement, determining the type of contract, establishing acquisition milestones and preparing the procurement plan
Perform pre-award and post-award functions including negotiation and administration to completion or termination of multi-year, high dollar value contracts.
Request cost price analysis and reviewing cost breakdowns to establish reasonableness of price.
Negotiate changes in the terms of the contract to include specifications, delivery schedules, payment, and shipping points
Analyze bids and proposals for conformance with the solicitation

Basic Education Requirement for the 1102 series:
A bachelor's degree from an accredited educational institution authorized to grant baccalaureate degrees.
OR
Exemption: You are exempt from the education requirements above if (A) you are a current DoD employee, in any occupational series, who has served on or before September 30, 2000, as follows: (1) Served as a GS/equivalent-1102 position or contracting officer position with authority to award or administer contracts above the SAT in any Federal agency, OR (2) Served as a military member in a comparable military occupational specialty; OR (B) you are a current member of the armed forces who occupied a position within an occupational specialty similar to the GS-1102 series on or before September 30, 2000.
AND
In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position at the GS-12 grade level you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below:
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes preparing solicitation documents for procurement plans; performing analysis of bids or proposals by reviewing bids and awards; monitoring contractor performance in relation to the completion schedule required by the contract; assisting with negotiating contract terms and/or contract modifications; utilizing cost and price procedures to evaluate bids or offers. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).
