Duties

This position starts at a salary of $136,832.00 (GS-14, Step 1) to $186,629.00 (GS-14, Step 10) with promotion potential to $186,629.00 (GS-14 Step 10). In this position, as the Division Director you will support the goals and objectives of the organization. Major duties for this position may include but are not limited to: Providing critical and relevant intelligence on current and emerging threats to support CBP's strategic and tactical mission through daily intelligence briefs, tailored threat briefs and targeting packages, and intelligence products. Sustains CBP's strategic and operational advantages in countering terrorism and transnational organized crime. Directing multiple pieces of the intelligence cycle for CBP: planning and direction, collection, processing, analysis and production, and dissemination. Demonstrates one or more sub-specialties within overall tradecraft expertise. In collaboration with CBP operational components, identifies intelligence requirements, appropriate audiences, methods of delivery, and evaluation in support of the CBP Commissioner's priorities. Evaluating performance outputs and outcomes. Assures that methods are devised to monitor and regulate intelligence efforts within sphere of influence. Identifies deltas between capabilities and objectives and works with counterparts to eliminate or mitigate those deltas. Serves as an advisor to senior managers and executives on highly complex initiatives regarding intelligence-related security threats.

Qualifications

Experience: You qualify for the GS 14 grade level if you possess 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, performing duties such as: Managing a subordinate supervisory staff who are directly engaged in providing intelligence production on current and emerging border security threat matters. Overseeing the production of specialized intelligence initiatives or reports to present and effectively argue the intelligence position regarding national security matters such as terrorism, counterintelligence, transnational organized crime, illicit drug, illicit travel, migration, economic security, illicit trade. Developing and implementing standard operating procedures particular to the intelligence mission. Representing the organization on working groups and committees in agency, departmental, federal, international, and in intelligence community engagements. Conducting short- and long-term planning through in-depth research and analysis regarding mission objectives. You must: Meet all qualification requirements, including education if applicable to this position, subject to verification at any stage of the application process; and Meet all applicable Time in Grade requirements (current federal employees must have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade or equivalent grade band in the federal service) by 03/01/2024. Current and former federal employees may be required to serve or complete a probationary period.
