Duties

Receive telephone calls and visitors. Create reports, memos, and letters for organizations. Use office automation equipment and software programs to support the functions of the office. Provide assistance on applicable procedures to organization personnel. Review office procedures to ensure effective operations. Review office correspondence for accuracy and correctness Establish varies office records for office.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position requires that you obtain and maintain a Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • This position has mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination requirements and is subject to annual seasonal influenza vaccinations unless otherwise exempted for medical or religious reasons (documentation of exemption must be provided upon hire).
  • The incumbent of this position is required to be screened for applicable immunizations and is subject to missing/required immunizations unless otherwise exempted for medical or religious reasons.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: I have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-04 grade level in the Federal service which includes using multiple office automation software with varied functions to produce a wide range of documents to provide miscellaneous clerical support. OR Education: Four years of education above the high school level obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.) OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total semester hours minus 60) by 60. Add the two percentages. AND Proficiency Required: This position requires a qualified typist. A qualified typist can type 40 words per minute based on a 5 minute sample with three or fewer errors. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas:Computer SkillsInterpersonal SkillsSelf-Management Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-04).
