This position is being recruited under 10 USC 1599f into the Cyber Excepted Service and does NOT convey eligibility to be converted to the Competitive Service. It has been identified as a position necessary to carry out and support the mission of the US Cyber Command.
It is in the Professional Work Category at the Senior Work Level within the CES Occupational Structure. It is located in the JOINT FORCE HEADQUARTERS - DODIN.
Duties
Plans and coordinates short and long-range plans with other COCOMS, Services and Agencies.
Oversees the cybersecurity program of an information system or network including managing information security applications to include strategic, personnel, infrastructure, requirements, policy enforcement, emergency planning, and security awareness.
Serves as the Directorate Information System Security Manager (ISSM) for J6 responsible for overseeing compliance of all JFHQ-DODIN IA position qualification requirements in accordance with DoD instructions.
Establishes, documents, and monitors an operating JFHQ-DODIN cyber security program implementation plan and ensures compliance with DOD management policies.
Track software licenses and acts as trusted agent for Public key infrastructure (PKI).
Analyzes and evaluates work processes concerned with integrated systems of computer programs and/or equipment.
Responds to and resolves problems with software, hardware, and systems management.
Authority To Operate (ATO) - equipment authorized to be on the network while overseeing/performing equipment installation or relocation, testing and acceptance processes.

- This national security position, which may require access to classified information, requires a favorable suitability review and security clearance as a condition of employment. Failure to maintain security eligibility may result in termination.
- Top Secret/ SCI security clearance required.

- This position is covered under DoD Manual 8140 which will be subject to future Cyber Workforce requirements as defined by the Manual.

Qualifying Experience:To qualify at the GG-13, your resume must describe at least one year of experience that demonstrates the competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Experience refers to any paid or unpaid experience, including volunteer work and Military service, that would be considered equivalent to work normally performed at the next lower grade level in the federal service.
For this position, qualifying experience is defined as: Experience in Information Systems Security which includes preparing, distributing, and maintaining plans, instructions, guidance, and standard operating procedures for network system operations, familiarity with IS security engineering, and monitoring, evaluating, and identifying areas within technological advancement and security safeguards and procedures.

Education
