Duties

You will administer program indoctrinations/terminations and process special clearance visit certifications. You will work with Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) and Special Access Programs (SAPs) and follow the requirements for removeable media and equipment handling in SCIFs/SAPFs. You will provide security assistance for pre-construction, maintenance and modification, including alarms, facility checklists, standard procedures and practices and other documentation required in accreditation approvals for facilities. You will assist the Senior Intelligence Officer (SIO) and Special Security Officer (SSO) with the investigation, documentation, and disposition of all security related incidents. You will maintain associated information and databases, continually evaluate the programs and systems for vulnerabilities and necessary process improvements. You will provide security related training to new employees, new professionals, new supervisors, and all other employees regarding security programs and requirements. You will manage the security for NIWC LANT Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) and Special Access Programs (SAPs) for military, government, and contractor personnel in your assigned area of responsibility.

Requirements

• Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
• Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
• You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final TS/SCI security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
• Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
• This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or NH-04 pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:Managing security programs (e.g. Special Security Office (SSO) and Special Access Program (SAP)) for an organization, to include investigating, approving, or denying access to sensitive information or locations; AND developing and reviewing security procedures.
