Serves as a Supervisory Clinical Pharmacist providing oversight of the complex clinical pharmacy service for the Red Lake Hospital that includes inpatient, emergency department, ambulatory primary care, and dispensing services. This position also directs the medication delivery system, medication management services, the point of sale revenue program, and the pharmacy informatics program for the Red Lake Hospital.
Duties
Supervise professional and support staff within the pharmacy.
Direct the delivery of pharmacy services, including advances in clinical practice, efficient and effective drug distribution, and education to improve patient quality of life, minimize therapeutic risk and enhance clinical outcome.
Control the procurement and utilization of departmental resources including contractual agreements.
Evaluate the overall performance or all pharmacy duties and all pharmacy employees.
Plan improvements in pharmacy services.
Qualifications

BASIC REQUIREMENT(S):
Education: A doctoral degree in Pharmacy that is recognized by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education(external link) (ACPE) or an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education(external link) at the time the degree was obtained.
Licensure: Applicants must be licensed to practice pharmacy in a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States.
Medical Requirements: Applicants must be able to distinguish basic colors.
Basic Requirements for the GS-13 and above Grade Levels: In addition to the licensure and educational requirements described above, a minimum of one year of professional pharmacy experience that is equivalent to at least the next lower grade level.
In addition to the Basic Requirements, you must also meet the Minimum Qualifications stated below.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks:
GS-13: One year of professional pharmacy experience equivalent to at least the GS-12 grade level. This experience is related to the work of the position in the Federal service as described in the vacancy announcement. Examples include: Provides inpatient and outpatient pharmacy services and carries out the pharmacy functions of drug selection, compounding and dispensing as prescribed, including IV and chemotherapy drugs; demonstrated experience with JCAHO accreditation requirements; manager level familiarity with the RPMS Point of Sale application; prepares and maintains department.
Time In Grade
Federal employees in the competitive service are also subject to the Time-In-Grade Requirements: Merit Promotion (status) candidates must have completed one year of service at the next lower grade level. Time-In-Grade provisions do not apply under the Excepted Service Examining Plan (ESEP).
