You will serve as a SHIPWRIGHT SUPERVISOR I in the SERVICE SHOP (CODE 990), PRODUCTION RESOURCES DEPARTMENT MANAGER (CODE 901), PRODUCTION RESOURCES DEPARTMENT (CODE 990) in the NORFOLK NAVAL SHIPYARD.

Duties

You will be responsible for carrying out EEO policies and communicating support of these policies to subordinates. You will assure equality in determining qualifications, selections, assignments, training, promotions, details, discipline and awards to employees. You will plan the use of workers, equipment, facilities, materials and tools provided thought the (AIM) process for assigned units of work. You will effectively communicate work assignments to subordinates work leaders journeymen. You will monitor the status of assigned work in relation to the overall schedules requirements including unanticipated or emergency requirements.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.

Qualifications

The Screen-out Element for this position is: ABILITY TO LEAD OR SUPERVISE Setting the pace of work for Shipwright helpers and Trainees. Leading a small group of Shipwright helpers and Trainees. Assuring the work assignments of the group are carried out. Instructing Shipwright Helpers and Trainees on proper work procedures.
