The ideal candidate should be an senior-level environmental professional with training or experience conducting environmental and/or historic preservation reviews. The ideal candidate would be knowledgeable on a broad range of environmental and historic preservation laws and executive orders in order to be able to independently evaluate highly complex projects, prepare technical documentation, and communicate with stakeholders regarding technical information.

Qualifications

To qualify for this Environmental Protection Specialist position at the IC-13 level, you must possess one full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the IC-12 level in the Federal government, which has equipped you with the skills needed to successfully perform the duties of the position. Experience may be obtained in the Federal or Private Sector and must demonstrate all of the following: Establishing working relationships with stakeholders to effectively convey policy and program concepts to stakeholders with clarity and conciseness, Developing strategies or new approaches to achieve compliance or process improvements; and Advising stakeholders on environmental laws and regulations, such as the National Environmental Policy Act, National Historic Preservation Act, or EO 12898 Environmental Justice.
