Pay for first time hires to the Federal Government will typically be set at step 1 salary range for their respective grade level.
Duties
Serves as a senior technical specialist in the application of internet and intranet technologies to meet the needs of functional customers based on fact finding meetings to specifically identify web requirements.
Coordinates with customers to specify web page/internet requirements. Designs web pages, creates site content, and prepares programming specifications based upon customer need and source of data.
Provides project leadership and expert system analysis and programming support on the use and implementation of SharePoint technologies into new and/or expanding areas.
Applies knowledge of the internet, intranet, and extranet environments and related web technology issues such as website tools, security and firewalls, secure web transaction processes, browsers and their compatibility and usage.
Responsible for technical planning, design, development, testing, implementation, and management of the DFAS Intranet and Extranet activities.
Develops plans, schedules, and estimates resource requirements to deliver web products.
Analyzes factors such as site usage, availability of current data, and purpose of the site.
Research special ADP topics, evaluates alternatives, develops plans, and monitors tasks.
Plans and organizes system developments, tests, and maintenance responsibilities to ensure the smooth integration of new projects uses various ADP knowledge in the formulation of software design plans.

Problem Solving- identifying alternatives to address complex information technology-related issues by gathering and applying information from a variety of sources that provide a number of potential solutions
In addition to the Basic Competency Requirements listed above, one year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to that of the next lower grade GS-12 in the federal service, which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position, is required.
Specialized experience is defined as: Designing, implementing and managing Information Technology (IT) web-based systems using mid-tier technologies; installing, configuring and administering web application server products such as Sharepoint; and providing technical guidance in systems analysis and programming support on the use and implementation of technology in the areas of software, hardware, database management, interactive and distributive processing, modeling techniques, and imaging.
