The incumbent will be required to deploy to forward operating austere locations in war zones to perform duties at the will of the Combatant Commander.

Duties

Plans and implements quality assurance aircraft manufacturing/production processes to evaluate risk management programs. Performs technical quality data analysis to determine supplier compliance with contractual requirements. Fact finds or investigates techniques of unsatisfactory trends to develop recommendations to correct deficiencies and employ continuous improvement techniques. Provides technical support and recommendations to team members to ensure mission requirements are delivered.

Requirements

• Possession of a valid state driver's license is required.
• Security Requirements: Non-Critical Sensitive with Secret Access
• Required to obtain a passport/VISA.
• A medical/dental examination is required. You must pass a pre-employment examination and reoccurring annual physical throughout your 4-year commitment. Lifting requirement of 45 pounds.
• Immunization screening is required (e.g., Anthrax, Smallpox, Malaria, and COVID). Must meet medical criteria for deployment in accordance with USCENTCOM Individual Protection and Individual/Unit Deployment Policy.
• DoD Civilian Employee Overseas Emergency Essential Position Agreement is required.
• Must be able to possess and maintain a Government Travel Card.
• Selectee is required to be exempt from recall to the military Reserves or recall to active duty for retired military.
• Appointment is subject to the completion of a favorable suitability or fitness determination, where reciprocity cannot be applied; unfavorably adjudicated background checks will be grounds for removal.
• Selective Service Requirement: Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered or exempt from Selective Service.
• Tentative offer for employment will be rescinded if the selectee does not meet conditions of employment.

Qualifications

To qualify for a Quality Assurance Specialist (Deployable), your resume and supporting documentation must support: A. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position and is directly in or related to this position. To qualify at the GS-12 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military or private sector. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade (General Schedule (GS) positions only), time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes: Ensuring contract compliance with all requirements related to the design, manufacturing, repair, overhaul, and modernization of a variety of items. Identifying, understanding, proofing, measuring and analyzing contractor production process capability. Developing/implementing a surveillance plan that includes identification of contractor and sub-contractor production needs. Performing audits and surveillance of contractors process to ensure customer and contractual requirements are met.
