This position is located in Department of Homeland Security (DHS), U.S. Coast Guard (USCG), Surface Forces Logistics Center (SFLC), Long Range Enforced PL, Baltimore, Maryland.

Duties

Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard team.Typical work assignments include:- Conducting the full range of provisioning and pre-procurement screening for preparing new item entries for stock number assignment, and screen incoming high priority requisitions.- Coordinating with suppliers and originators of Item Entry Proposals in a team effort to assure that the needs of both internal and external customers are met.- Responding to requests from operating unit customers regarding management and item identification data such as status of NSN, reference numbers, source of supply information, acquisition advice codes, unit price and general supply questions relating to supply regulations, policies procedures and instructions. - Providing administrative support and assistance to higher level supply technicians and technical specialist.- Using standardized office automation tools and software to create, store, retrieve and print files and reports.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • Males born after 12/31/1959 must be registered for Selective Service.

Qualifications

Candidates must have 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-6 level in the federal service. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work. Examples of specialized experience includes: knowledge of standardized supply regulations, policies, procedures relating to requisitioning and stock control in order to check appropriate computer listings, item histories, procurement documents, shipment invoices, or other available records or files; conducting extensive searches for required information; answering inquiries regarding the status of requisitions, delivery of material, and other questions received from customers, storage depots, or other organizations; investigating and reconciling discrepancies relating to actions such as receipt control, stock control, and inventory adjustments.National Service Experience (i.e., volunteer experience): Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.The Office of Personnel management (OPM) must authorize employment offers made to current or former political appointees. If you are currently, or have been within the last 5 years, a political Schedule A, Schedule, C, Non-career SES or Presidential Appointee employee in the Executive Branch, you must disclose this information to the Human Resources Office.

Education
