You will serve as a Facilities Inspector in the Installation Facilites & ENV Division, Public Works Branch of MARINE CORPS BASE QUANTICO.
Duties
You will inspect facilities and facility infrastructure such as structures, roads, runways, bridges, buildings, roofs, high/low voltage electrical systems, and building heating, air conditioning and ventilation systems.
You will prepare written inspection reports indicating condition and make recommendations for repair and replacement.
You will provide rough labor and material cost estimates for repair or replacement of base facilities.
You will assist the Public Works Planning Section with input on repair and replacement projects for future validation.
You will monitor contracts, coordinate repairs, and inspect projects which may have environmental or industrial safety impacts.
You will maintain a high state of rapport in dealing with base personnel.
You will assist other inspectors with special inspections such as unfired pressure vessels, hoists, and/or electrical and mechanical systems.
You will attend pre-decision and pre-construction meetings and site visits with Public Works Representatives.
You will review construction contracts during design stages and provide written responses of the review to Public Works Representatives.
You will assist with maintaining and updating the facility equipment listing for MAXIMO.

- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current Government Motor Vehicle Operator's license.
- You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
- You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- This position is considered Key/Emergency-Essential. You will be required to provide immediate and continuing support to ensure the success of combat operations or the availability of combat-essential systems.
- You must be able to lift and carry items weighing up to 50lbs.
- Outdoor work is required in all weather conditions about 30% of the time.
Qualifications

The Screen-out Element for this position is the ability to perform common Facilities Inspector tasks under close supervision including: Interpreting blueprints, specifications and technical directives; Assisting with computing labor and material cost; Using normal tools of the trade; Helping inspect work in skills such as carpentry, masonry, metal work, painting , electrical, Plumbing, heating, roof repair, vector control, fence, traffic signs, playgrounds landscapes planting and pavement.
