Duties

You will ensure the presence of members and military and civilian witnesses before courts-martial. You will assist in preparation of courts-martial post-trial advice, convening authority actions, courts-martial promulgating orders, and other documents. You will prepare typewritten material in final form from dictation, rough draft or original composition. You will develop and maintain systems to assure timely submission of SF-450 Forms, submitted for review by Staff Judge Advocate as Deputy Ethics Counselor. You will receive various telephone calls regarding courts-martial reviews and military justice matters. You will maintain professional, working relationships with staff personnel, customers, superiors, and subordinate commands.

Requirements

Qualifications

Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Demonstrating practical working knowledge of military law principles and procedures and general knowledge of other legal procedures and practices; 2) Interpreting military justice attorneys' analyses of the decisions made by the Navy Court of Military Review and United States Court of Military Appeals; 3) Appealing decisions and taking routine, independent action on assigned tasks and issues; and 4) Operating computers/word processors, typewriters, dictating/transcribing equipment, copying machines, and other office equipment. Education

The following education may be substituted for specialized experience:

A master's or equivalent graduate degree;

or

2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree;

or

LL.B. or J.D., if related.
