Duties
Develop installation procedures that outline responsibilities for the execution of the Family Advocacy Program (FAP). Assesses the special needs of military and retired families residing on the installation and in the surrounding community.
Coordinates with local medical treatment facilities and civilian agencies to ensure that direct services such as temporary shelter, short-term crisis intervention, medical treatment and follow-up services are available.
Collect, maintain and analyze data for planning and reporting purposes in accordance with governing program guidance.
Develop and implement a post wide prevention and education program for the Family Advocacy Program.
Determine funding requirements and use of resources to support organization's mission for the Family Advocacy Program.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- TDY travel is occasionally required.
- Position is designated as a "Key Position" in accordance with AR 690-8. This position shall not be vacated during a national emergency or mobilization without seriously impairing the capability of the agency to function effectively.
- This position requires regular contact with children under the age 18 and a favorable determination of suitability to do so.
Qualifications

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience or education requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Basic Requirement: Have a master's degree (or higher degree) in social work from a school accredited by the Council on Social Work Education. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.)

Specialized Experience: have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service which includes the following. Work in a Family Advocacy Program to provide post wide prevention and education programs which includes informing, providing support, and assistance for all personnel in the organization and their family members about subjects such as child and spouse maltreatment. Aid in coordinating with local medical treatment facilities and civilian agencies to ensure that direct services such as temporary shelter, short-term crisis intervention, medical treatment and follow-up services, such as victim assistance, and support groups are available and accessible.
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.

Education
