Supervisory Store Associates serve as the second line supervisor and manager of the Front-End Department of a Commissary store. The incumbent is fully responsible for all aspects of planning, scheduling, coordinating and controlling front end activities and personnel, and controlling all funds received and deposited daily as part of the front-end department operations.
Duties
Serves as a first line supervisor for store associates
Directs the following work in multiple areas of the commissary
Front end operations including patron identification, customer inquiries, check out, and cash control
Non-perishable stock control including transporting items and stocking shelves
Meat display and case stocking
Produce inspection, display, and rotation
Accounts maintenance, supply, and computer operations

Qualifications
You must meet the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) qualifications for series 1101 and additional requirements by the announcement closing date. Your resume must clearly show that you have the qualifications described below.
Experience:
One (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-7 grade level or equivalent to at least GS-7 under other Federal service pay systems, private sector, or military.
Examples of specialized experience:
Plans, directs, or assigns work for employees.
Knowledgeable of multiple departments within a grocery store in order to evaluate work, provide instruction, and conduct on-the-job training for workers.
Carry out daily retail grocery store functions necessary to successfully execute store operations.
You will receive credit for all relevant qualifying experience (paid and unpaid), including volunteer work done through National Service program (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social).
Physical requirements:
(1) Stand, walk, bend, reach and similar activities when taking inventory, retrieving items from the warehouse, and stocking shelves. (2) Lift, push, pull, carry, and handle items weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance and heavier products with assistance or weight-handling equipment. You will attest to your ability to perform these physical requirements in the Questionnaire.
