This position is located in the Division of Risk Management Supervision, New York Region, in the Catonsville, MD Field Office of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation and provides support in the examination and supervision financial institutions for safety, soundness, and consumer protection.

Qualifications
Qualifying experience may be obtained in the private or public sector. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic, religious/spiritual; community; student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. Experience: To qualify at the grade 11, applicants must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the grade 09 level in the federal service. To qualify, applicants must have completed at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the 09 grade level or above in the Federal service. Specialized experience is experience assisting in determining an insured depository institutions' compliance with governing laws and regulations; ascertaining bank management's methods for identifying, measuring, monitoring, and controlling risk; reviewing and analyzing the quality of bank assets; evaluating the level and trend of earnings, the liquidity position, and sensitivity to market risk; and evaluating the board of director's policies and bank management's practices.

Education: To qualify based on education, applicants must possess a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 years of progressively higher level full-time graduate education leading to such a degree; or an LL.M. Major field of study: accounting, banking, business administration, commercial or banking law, economics, finance, marketing, or other fields related to the position. This education includes 24 semester hours in business administration, accounting, finance, marketing, or economics with at least 6 semester hours in accounting.
OR
Combination of both education and experience: Combinations of successfully completed education and experience may be used to meet total qualification requirements for the CG/GS-11 level. Example: two and one-half years of progressively higher-level full-time graduate level education, and six months of specialized experience as described above is qualifying.
