About the position: This position will be assigned to the Sports/indoor/Outdoor activity.
This is a Flexible position, with weekly hours ranging from 0-40.
Recruitment and Retention Incentives may be authorized.
Duties
Performs and/or assists in operation and maintenance of recreational facilities. Establishes schedules of events as well as the rules and regulations to be observed. Types of duties include but are not limited to the following: Tests water skiing and boating equipment for safe operation; demonstrate safety and conservation techniques for campsites, water sports area, firing ranges, and hunting areas. Demonstrate equipment and techniques of various outdoor activities such as camping, swimming and boating; sets up gymnasiums and playing fields for sports events, tournaments and practice games when such assignments require a practical knowledge of the rules and procedures of such activities (i.e. are not simply manual labor assignments); inspects outdoor recreation and sports facilities and equipment for security and general conditions; and schedules campsites, cabins, boats and other outdoor recreation equipment and areas for use, with a responsibility for seeing that they are vacated or returned in good order. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements
- This position requires the incumbent to complete a background investigation with favorable results.
- This position has been identified as a Test Designated Position (TDP). The incumbent of this position will be subject to and must consent to a pre-employment and random drug testing.
- Must have valid driver's license and good driving record.
- The incumbent must be able to work a shift schedule that may include weekends and holidays.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.
Qualifying Experience:
Experience demonstrating a working familiarity with the routines and procedures followed in group activities or programs; and practical knowledge and/or experience of recreational activities and equipment, rules and procedures in a recreation program activity which has involved recreation work in the area of specialty in which the position is assigned; ability and skill in dealing with the public.
Conditions of Employment:
Successful completion and favorable adjudication of applicable background investigation (Tier 1Level) is required. Must possess a valid motor vehicle operator's license. This is a Test Designated Position. The incumbent of this position will be subject to and must consent to a pre-employment and random drug testing.
Education
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution.
FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program. It is your responsibility to provide such evidence when applying.
