Duties

Incumbent is responsible for the maintenance, repair and condition of the entire playing area of the golf course. This includes directing and supervising subordinate employees in phases of course maintenance to include mowing, fertilizing and maintaining tees, fairways, greens, and roughs. Supervises the cleaning, painting and general repair of buildings, fences, bridges, and shelters directly affecting golf play to include the completion of general landscaping projects.

Requirements

• Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
• A one year probationary period may be required.
• Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check.
• Subject to satisfactory completion of all pre-employment checks in accordance with AR 215-3, para.2 to include a Tier 1 background investigation.
• Environmental requirements, licenses, background checks, etc.
• Work hours are usually M-F 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and maybe determined by the season and need. Weekend hours may be required for special circumstances and crew provides snow removal services in winter months so hours vary depending on weather.
• DOD chemical certification with 30 days of employment (GCSSA Certification).

Qualifications

Work experience performing duties as described above. Must be able to obtain a DOD Pest Management Certificate. Working knowledge of chemicals used on insects and for weeds and brush control. Highly Preferred: Must have one(1) year experience as golf course ground superintendent. Must have one (1) year experience in building maintenance.
