About the Position: Fort Eisenhower is approximately 139 miles east of Atlanta, GA; 80 miles southwest of Columbia, SC; 156 miles west of Charleston, SC; 175 miles southwest of Charlotte, NC; and 127 miles northwest of Savannah, Georgia.
Duties
Serve as the Army Emergency Relief (AER) Specialist for the installation under the supervision of the Financial Readiness Program Manager
Serve as the installation Survivor Outreach Support Coordinator.
Provide advice to leadership on ways to incorporate quality of life strategies into daily operations.
Consult with on and off site community leadership officials on Soldier and Family Readiness services and related issues.
Determine courses of action to positively affect Soldier and Family readiness, mission readiness, recruitment and retention.
Evaluate and interprets data to identify and clarify issues and concerns.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires a Tier I (National Agency Check) investigation.
- This positions requires the incumbent to occasionally work other than normal duty hours.
- This position may require the incumbent to work overtime and irregular tour of duty.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Basic Requirement:
A. Degree: Bachelor's degree (or higher degree) in behavioral or social science, or related disciplines appropriate to the position.
OR
B. Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience that provided the applicant with knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field.
OR
C. Experience: Four years of appropriate experience that demonstrated that the applicant has acquired knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field.
In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below:
One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 grade level in the Federal service which includes 1) providing general services to a community such as information and referral, crisis intervention, family advocacy, special events for soldiers, families, and civilian employees; 2) conducting assessments, counseling and training; 3) providing client referrals to ensure clients' needs have been met; and 4) providing budget counseling, financial planning, and consumer education services.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-09).
