Duties
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
The National Counterterrorism Centers Directorate of Intelligence (NCTC/DI) seeks a motivated officer to lead a high-performing team of officers in a group working to combat terrorism worldwide and protect the Homeland.
The group is charged with providing regional and functional analysis on threats to the Americas and Europe; on threats from transnational violent extremists and those inspired by foreign terrorist organizations; and on indicators and risks of radicalization and mobilization worldwide.
The DI has an expansive mission that requires a rigorous approach to analysis and collaboration across the Intelligence Community.
Aspiring candidates will be at the forefront of NCTCs efforts to provide the highest quality strategic analysis on the most important counterterrorism topics.
Qualified candidates will have the opportunity to:
Provide expert guidance and leadership to multiple teams in the production of well-crafted sophisticated, complex analytic finished intelligence products on sometimes controversial or particularly difficult issues in support of United States (US) foreign policy and national security objectives; review final analytic products, written and oral, for clarity, organization, accuracy, and logic; effectively explain highly complex concepts and results to non-expert customers and tailor products to correspond to customer needs.
Provide intellectual leadership and strategic direction for the division, manage the flow of taskings, and encourage teamwork and collaboration with counterparts throughout NCTC, ODNI, and the IC.
Mentor and develop analysts of varying experience levels and evaluate the performance of analysts from different career services, each with its own unique expectations, opportunities, and performance review systems.
Help drive the groups analytic program, ensuring that products incorporate the highest IC tradecraft standards and capitalize on NCTCs unique data accesses and tools.
Recruit, develop, and retain a diverse and highly qualified workforce.
Ensure personnel are appropriately challenged, rewarded, and given the support, tools, training, and opportunities they need to develop and succeed.
Cultivate an inclusive environment that fosters the development of all officers to their full potential.
