The purpose of this position is to provide coordination for the development of departmental budgets, tracking, and monitoring of the Budget/Financial reporting for the Service Unit. The incumbent provides recommendations to leadership, guidance, and direction to all employees within the Service Unit regarding financial management.
Duties
Assures all approved purchase orders are posted and other obligating documents are posted to the automated commitment register.
Advises direct Supervisor on establishing budget priorities, participates in the planning and development of the service unit budget consistent with service unit program plans.
Advises the Deputy Chief Executive Officer (DCEO), Financial Management Analyst and Chief Executive Officer (DCEO) of any potential problems.
Provides technical assistance on financial or budgetary matters.
Qualifications

In addition to the Basic Requirements, you must also meet the Minimum Qualifications stated below.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level (GS-9) in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks: Coordinates and provides technical assistance to department supervisors in the preparation of their portion of the budget; Monitors approved budget, fiscal management, and expenditure of funds; Provides technical assistance on financial or budgetary matters. Recommends corrective actions and methods to achieve compliance with procedures and practices.
Time In Grade
Federal employees in the competitive service are also subject to the Time-In-Grade Requirements: Merit Promotion (status) candidates must have completed one year of service at the next lower grade level. Time-In-Grade provisions do not apply under the Excepted Service Examining Plan (ESEP).
