This position is part of the National Archives and Records Administration. The incumbent serves as an Archives Specialist at the Federal Records Center, also known as the Washington National Records Center, under the general supervision of the Chief, Transfers and Disposition Branch. The incumbent performs various duties related to the disposition of Federal records; provides technical assistance to Federal agencies; and conducts space analysis, planning, and administrative studies.

Qualifications
You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: For the GS-11, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-09 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position includes:
Utilizing a wide range of systems or databases to search beyond readily accessible material to locate, analyze, index, and/or manage records; AND
Independently performing analytical and research techniques to deliver reference and research assistance to individuals, agencies and/or organizations; AND
Performing or providing physical and intellectual controls in adherence with archival principles and organization procedures and practices.
OR
You may substitute education for specialized experience as follows: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree in a related field or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M., if related.
OR
You may qualify by a combination of experience and education. Options for qualifying based on a combination will be identified in the online questions.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: For the GS-09, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-07 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position includes:
Utilizing a wide range of systems or databases to search beyond readily accessible material to locate, analyze, index, and/or manage records; AND
Performing or providing physical and intellectual controls in adherence with archival principles and organization procedures and practices.
OR
You may substitute education for specialized experience as follows: Master's or equivalent graduate degree in a related field or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D., if related.
OR
You may qualify by a combination of experience and education. Options for qualifying based on a combination will be identified in the online questions.

Education Requirements: The education generally must be from an accredited (or pre-accredited) college or university recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.
