About the Position: This position is located in Fort Campbell KY with US ARMY SPECIAL OPERATIONS AVIATION COMMAND (USASOAC).

Duties

Serve as technical advisor/project officer of USASOAC, and subordinate units for the development of Electronic Warfare and Aircraft Survivability Equipment techniques to include radar/infrared/directed energy and small arms/unguided weapons. Identifies ASE training requirements and coordinates training for new ASE and test equipment, including review of manufacturer’s training material, scheduling aircraft availability, and participating in the training events. Serves as the team leader for such initiatives and is responsible to direct the team in the accomplishment of the overall project. Develops and implements policy, with the authority to provide guidance throughout the directorate for the planning, budgeting and acquisition of capital equipment in support of Inter-service, Navy, Air Force, Army and Marine Corps weapon systems.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position requires a Top Secret with SCI.
  • Incumbent must agree to submit to urinalysis on a recurring basis, in accordance with AR 600-85 and sign a DA Form 5019.
  • This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position.
  • This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 40% of the time.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes experience with providing on-site technical assistance and analyzing complex technical problems of the capabilities analysis, system integration and logistics/interoperability analysis of aircraft survivability equipment such as self-protection radar detectors and jammers, infrared seeking missile detectors, decoy flares and chaff, laser warning receivers, as well as multi-spectral signature management and ballistic protective material and experience in budgeting and planning requirements for new and replacement aircraft survivability equipment. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
