The position located in Division of Risk Management Supervision, Dallas Regional Office, of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, and will be responsible for assessing the risk to the deposit insurance fund posed by his/her assigned portfolio (caseload) of financial institutions/organizations, regardless of charter.

Duties
Directs or conducts ongoing and continuous assessment of risk management practices, financial condition, business initiatives and future prospects of assigned portfolio (caseload) of financial organizations and their affiliates to assess potential risk to the deposit insurance fund.
Initiates and conducts conferences and meetings with other supervisory authorities and bank officials, implements formal plans and programs designed to correct deficiencies in the operation of the financial institutions under his/her supervision; and obtain formal commitments from bank affiliates where deemed appropriate by the Region Director.
Prepares periodic (usually quarterly) detailed written assessment of financial condition, material changes in, an future prospects of, the individual financial institution in assigned portfolio (caseload).
Monitors corrective action taken by financial institutions to address supervisory concerns and in conjunction with examination staff. determines the adequacy of remediation steps taken by financial institutions in his/her portfolio (caseload).
Qualifications
Qualifying experience may be obtained in the private or public sector. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic, religious/spiritual; community; student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. To qualify, applicants must have completed at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the 14 grade level or above in the Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as directing a segment of a region's supervisory program including assessing risk posed by large or complex financial institutions; analyzing reports of examinations, applications, and investigations; and preparing summaries of findings, memoranda, and recommendations for banking regulators, financial institutions, or holding companies.
Applicants must be a Commissioned Examiner in the FDIC or another organization with comparable commissioning criteria to that used by the FDIC's Division of Risk Management Supervision.
