You will serve as an INTERDISCIPLINARY GENERAL ENGINEER/ARCHITECT of NAVAL FACILITIES ENG COMMAND MARIANAS.

Duties
You will be responsible for project management features of work related to military construction projects, and coordinates and directs the work of others in timely execution of project development, design, and construction for all projects assigned.
You will render technical decisions/recommendations on situations, questions, and/or problems relating to scheduling, funding, project coordination, and contract interpretations which could affect the execution of the project.
You will ensure statutory costs are not exceeded, and that the letter and intent of authorization and appropriation laws are carried through.
You will be responsible for tracking the progress of facility design to ensure execution remains within scope, within budget and on schedule.
You will serve as focal point to Supported Commanders, higher echelon, and field offices, on information for projects assigned regarding status of individual projects, and reviews and acts on correspondence concerning assigned projects.

Registration as Professional Engineer or Registered Architect is required.
GS-13:
Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: managing project development, design, and construction and ensures timely execution.
GS-12:
Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: serving as technical expert in project management and responsible for quality and performance of the work of others; providing consultative services on the entire range of architectural and engineering activities for facilities construction and solve problems.

Basic Requirements:
A. Degree: Engineering. To be acceptable, program must: (1) lead to a bachelor's degree in a school of engineering with at least one program accredited by ABET; or (2) include differential & integral calculus &courses (more advanced than first-year physics and chemistry) in five of following seven areas of engineering science or physics: (a) statics, dynamics; (b) strength of materials (stress-strain relationships); (c) fluid mechanics, hydraulics; (d) thermodynamics; (e) electrical fields and circuits; (f) nature & properties of materials (relating particle & aggregate structure to properties); & (g) any other comparable area of fundamental engineering science or physics, such as optics, heat transfer, soil mechanics, or electronics.

B. Combination of education &experience -- college-level education, training, &/or technical experience that furnished (1) a thorough knowledge of physical and mathematical sciences underlying engineering, &(2) a good understanding, both theoretical &practical, of the engineering sciences & techniques and their applications to one of the branches of engineering. The adequacy of such background must be demonstrated by one of following:
1. Professional registration or licensure -- Current registration as an Engineer Intern (EI), Engineer in Training (EIT)1 , or licensure as a Professional Engineer (PE) by any State, District of Columbia, Guam, or Puerto Rico. Absent other means of qualifying under this standard, those applicants who achieved such registration by means other than written test (e.g., State grandfather or eminence provisions) are eligible only for positions that are within or closely related to the specialty field of their registration. For example, an applicant who attains registration through a State Board's eminence provision as a manufacturing engineer typically would be rated eligible only for manufacturing engineering positions.
2. Written Test -- Evidence of having successfully passed the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE)2 examination or any other written test required for professional registration by an engineering licensure board in the various States, the District of Columbia, Guam, &Puerto Rico.
3. Specified academic courses -- Successful completion of at least 60 semester hours of courses in physical, mathematical, &engineering sciences and that included courses specified in basic requirements under paragraph A. The courses must be fully acceptable toward meeting requirements of an engineering program as described in paragraph A.
4. Related curriculum -- Successful completion of a curriculum leading to a bachelor's degree in an appropriate scientific field, e.g., engineering technology, physics, chemistry, architecture, computer science, mathematics, hydrology, or geology, may be accepted in lieu of a bachelor's degree in engineering, provided the applicant has had at least 1 year of professional engineering experience acquired under professional engineering supervision and guidance. Ordinarily there should be either an established plan of intensive training to develop professional engineering competence, or several years of prior professional engineering-type experience, e.g., in interdisciplinary positions. Basic Requirements:
- Degree: architecture; or related field that included 60 semester hours of course work in architecture or related disciplines of which at least (1) 30 semester hours were in architectural design, and (2) 6 semester hours were in each of the following: structural technology, properties of materials and methods of construction, and environmental control systems.
- Combination of education &experience -- college-level education, training, and/or technical experience that furnished (1) a thorough knowledge of the arts and sciences underlying professional architecture, and (2) a good understanding, both theoretical &practical, of the architectural principles, methods, &techniques and their applications to the design &construction or improvement of buildings. The adequacy of such background must be demonstrated by at least one of the following:
- Related Curriculum: Degree in architectural engineering may be accepted as satisfying in full basic requirements, provided the completed course work in architectural engineering provided knowledge, skills, and abilities substantially equivalent to those provided in the courses specified in paragraph A. The curriculum for a degree in either architecture or architectural engineering covers function, esthetics, site, structure, economics, mechanical-electrical, and other engineering problems related to the design and construction of buildings primarily (but not exclusively) intended to house human activities. The courses required for a degree in architecture generally place emphasis upon planning, esthetics, and materials and methods of construction, while the courses for an architectural engineering degree place equal or greater weight on the technical engineering aspects such as structural systems, mechanical systems, and the properties of materials. Because of this difference in emphasis, persons with degrees in architecture may have a preference for work assignments that offer greater opportunities for them to express their artistic and creative abilities. As a result, they may be more concerned with planning and design aspects of architecture, and persons with degrees in architectural engineering may be more engaged in aspects emphasizing technical engineering considerations.
