This position is located with the Bureau of Indian Affairs, Northwest Region, Fort Hall Agency, Branch of Irrigation in Fort Hall, Idaho.

NOTE: TRAVEL AND RELOCATION EXPENSES WILL NOT BE AUTHORIZED. ANY RELOCATION EXPENSES ASSOCIATED WITH REPORTING FOR DUTY WILL BE THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE SELECTED EMPLOYEE.
Duties
Possess a valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License with the following endorsement; Air Brakes.
Diversified in the operation of heavy equipment in adverse weather conditions and after dark.
Maintain miles of earth, gravel, and paved roads within the Irrigation system.
Operate heavy equipment; but not limited to Motor Graders, Bulldozers of various sizes, rubber tired Front –End Loaders, heavy equipment transport, 10 C.Y. dump trucks, snow plows, sander trucks, pneumatic and steel drum rollers, and backhoes.
Perform and maintain safe working habits and comply with safety rules and regulations.
Keep work progress sheets to insure the proper coding of record and equipment operations for proper preventative maintenance performance.
Perform all preventative maintenance on equipment operated and report all deficiencies to the Maintenance Foreman.

- Incumbent is required to operate a government motor vehicle, must possess a valid driver's license, and have a safe driving record within the 3 year period immediately preceding submittal of GSA Form 3607.
- Position is SEASONAL and subject to PLACEMENT IN NON-PAY STATUS when services are not needed due to lack of work, funds, or unforeseen circumstances as designated during the year, a minimum of 2 weeks and maximum of 26 weeks.
- This position is subject to both pre-employment and random drug testing as a condition of employment. Applicants will not be appointed to the position if a verified positive drug test is received.
- Possess a valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License.

There is no specific length of training or experience required; however, you must be able to demonstrate through the experience shown in your written resume and your responses to the Occupational Questionnaire that you possess the competencies to perform the duties of this position without more than normal supervision.
