This position is located in the Small Business Administration, Performance Planning and CFO in Washington, D.C..
Duties
This position is ONLY open to surplus and displaced Small Business Administration employees eligible for the Career Transition Assistance Program (CTAP); displaced Federal employees in the local commuting area eligible for the Interagency Career Transition Assistance Program (ICTAP); and VEOA eligibles.
To be eligible for CTAP or ICTAP consideration, you may only apply for a position that is at or below the grade level, and does not have greater promotion potential, of the position from which you are being (or have been) separated.
Interprets data, information, and issues to formulate logical conclusions and recommendations.
Prepares data visualizations for AED, OSMEI managers and senior executives/leadership, and relevant stakeholders by performing system analysis and design.
Understands and applies appropriate qualitative and quantitative methods to support a decision or outcome.
Prepares and presents findings clearly through written and oral communication methods to diverse audiences.
Requirements
- You must be a U.S. Citizen.
- Appointment will be subject to the applicant's successful completion and favorable adjudication of a background investigation.
- You may be required to serve a one-year probationary period.
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS: GS-11: One year of specialized experience, equivalent to the GS-9 grade level in the Federal service, obtained in either the private or public sector: professional knowledge in computer science, data science, and/or a closely related field; skill in preparing data-focused dashboards with maps, graphs, and other visualizations, skill in applying data science principles, concepts, methods, standards and practices, and interpreting a portfolio of evidence to make recommendations on program improvement. These qualifications must be clearly referenced in your resume.
In addition to the specialized experience requirements this position also has an Education Requirement:
You must have a degree in mathematics, statistics, computer science, data science or field directly related to the position. The degree must be in a major field of study (at least at the baccalaureate level) that is appropriate for the position.

Combination of education and experience: Courses equivalent to a major field of study (30 semester hours) as shown in paragraph A above, plus additional education or appropriate experience.

GS-11: You must have a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree

Combination of Experience and Education:
GS-11: Combination of education and experience as specified above. For example, an applicant who has 1.5 full years of Ph.D. level education (i.e. 50% of education required) and 6 months of creditable specialized experience (i.e. 50% of the required experience) would equal 100% of the required experience for the position.
