About the Position: You will serve as a natural resources management staff specialist at a large water resource development project with greater than ten thousand acres of land and water, or at several smaller projects that are collectively similar in size to a large Corps lake.

Duties

Manage habitat and projects supporting fish and wildlife resources. Develop guidelines and standard operating procedures. Monitor recreational facilities and resolves conflicts that may occur due to conflicting recreational uses. Act as chief advisor to the resource manager concerning natural resource conservation matters. Oversee the conservation, preservation restoration and use of all projects natural and cultural resources. Oversee the project's shoreline management program, which includes permits for activities on public land surrounding the lake (including floating dock and mowing/under brushing permits), and minor real estate licenses and easements. Maintain government boundary lines by inspecting and/or re-marking public property lines and investigates potential encroachments or trespasses.

Requirements

• Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
• This position requires a valid State motor vehicle operator's license prior to appointment and the ability to maintain the license for the duration of employment.
• This position requires incumbent to obtain and maintain a Corps of Engineers certification to operate a motorboat.
• This position requires incumbent to obtain and maintain citation authority. As a citation officer you may work alone enforcing requirements of Title 36 CFR.
• This regulation provides policy and guidance for the establishment and management of a visitor assistance program including preparation of and management of contracts ensuing from this program.
• This position requires USACE uniform in accordance with EP 1130-2-550 (Engineering Pamphlets), Chapter 8 during routine work situations.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07); OR Successfully completed a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the work of the position, such as Biological Sciences, Agriculture, Natural Resource Management and Chemistry.
