The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a first level supervisor providing planning, directing, organizing, and exercising control over nonsupervisory employees assigned to the group's Quality Assurance (QA) function.
Duties
Plans, organizes, and directs the activities of the Use Control Systems/Stockpile Manager Section, ensuring that nuclear maintenance, sustainment, and logistics complies with legal, regulatory, and operational requirements.
Exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities. Uses supervisors and team chiefs to direct, coordinate, or oversee work.
Serves as a technical advisor to the 377 MXG Commander and Wing Response Task Force (WRTF) Operations Chief.
Represents the group with a variety of installation and functional area organizations.
Provides technical guidance and expert assistance to functional areas in managing weapon system logistics and transportation support.

- Work may occasionally require travel away from the normal duty station on military or commercial aircraft to both CONUS and OCONUS locations.

- This is a drug testing designated position. The incumbent is subject to pre-employment drug testing as a condition of employment, and participation in random drug testing.
- This is a Nuclear Weapons Personnel Reliability Program position. All provisions of AFI 36-2104 apply in addition to any command unique requirements.
- "This is a Supervisory Position." A 1-year supervisory probationary period is required if applicant selected has not previously met this requirement.
- This is a Mission-Essential position performing a Mission-Critical-Function which must continue uninterrupted after the occurrence of an emergency and continued through full resumption of all functions
- This is a Centrally Managed Position in the Logistics Career Field. PCS will be paid in accordance with JTR Vol. 2 and applicable Air Force Regulations.

In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions, Logistics Management Series, 0346.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-11, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes knowledge of logistics management concepts and procedures as applies in both civilian and military operations. In-depth knowledge of logistics as it relates to nuclear weapons and nuclear weapon support systems. It is desired that the incumbent have a Bachelor's degree in business or a technical specialty and can represent the Air Force in a positive and professional manner by maintaining and improving skills (management, technical, communication, and interpersonal). Knowledge of safety and security regulations, practices, and procedures. Additionally, the incumbent must have extensive knowledge of agency responsibilities for nuclear surety. Knowledge of wide variety of nuclear weapons logistics functions to include project management, nuclear weapons maintenance, nuclear weapon transportation, project officers meetings, MAJCOM policies, nuclear certification, nuclear accountability, nuclear surety, equipment specialist, use control.
FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-11 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-12 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. NOTE: Applicants applying as VEOA candidates who are current GS civil service employees or are prior GS civil service employees within the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
1. Knowledge of logistics management concepts and procedures as applies in both civilian and military operations. In-depth knowledge of logistics as it relates to nuclear weapons and nuclear weapon support systems. It is desired that the incumbent have a Bachelor's degree in business or a technical specialty and can represent the Air Force in a positive and professional manner by maintaining and improving skills (management, technical, communication, and interpersonal).
2. Knowledge of safety and security regulations, practices, and procedures. Additionally, the incumbent must have extensive knowledge of agency responsibilities for nuclear surety.
3. Ability to plan, organize, and direct the function and mentor, motivate, and appraise civilian and military subordinates.
4. Ability to communicate both orally and in writing to all levels.
5. Knowledge of wide variety of nuclear weapons logistics functions to include project management, nuclear weapons maintenance, nuclear weapon transportation, project officers meetings, MAJCOM policies, nuclear certification, nuclear accountability, nuclear surety, equipment specialist, use control, etc.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
