You will serve as a SUPERVISORY FIREFIGHTER in the Navy Fire and Emergency Services Department of NAVSUBASE KINGSBAY.
Duties
You will administer cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and automatic external defibrillation (AED) for a patient.
You will determine quantity of firefighting equipment required for fire operations.
You will use hazardous material response equipment and supplies (e.g., liquid splash and vapor protective clothing, respiratory protection, dry and extinguishing chemicals) in compliance with a local Incident Management System (IMS).
You will present fire protection and prevention education or training to employees.
You will apply search and rescue techniques in single story building, multiple story buildings, and warehouse structures to save victims from fires.
You will position firefighting vehicles in consideration of external factors (e.g., wind direction, sources of water, hazards from falling structures, location of armament on aircraft).

- This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
Qualifications
Hazardous Materials Technician, Hazardous Materials Incident Commander, Fire Officer I, Fire Officer II, Fire Instructor I, Fire Inspector I, Fire Fighter I, Fire Fighter II, HazMat Technician, Driver Operator Pumper, and Driver Operator Aerial, Marine Firefighter. These certifications must have been awarded by DoD, IFSAC or ProBoard to meet the requirement. In addition, you must also possess National Registry EMT. If you do not possess all of the above certifications and you have not attached copies of your certifications, you will be rated ineligible. Do you possess the above certifications?
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-08) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing the following duties: 1) Leading day to day operations for assigned shift providing guidance on firefighter related procedures; 2) Fighting structural and shipboard fires using pre-fire planning methods and knowledge of layouts and design; 3) Operating firefighting emergency vehicles and equipment; 4) Providing hazardous material incident response; and, 5) Providing basic life support procedures as needed for each emergency call.
