About the Position: This position is located at the U.S. Army MSCoE, Homeland Defense/ Civil Support Office on Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. Fort Leonard Wood is located in South-Central Missouri Ozarks. The Fort is located in Pulaski County, Missouri. Bordering the installation to the North are the towns of Waynesville/St. Robert and Interstate 44. St. Louis is a 2 hour drive to the East along I-44 and Springfield is a little more than an hour's drive to the West of Fort Leonard Wood.
Duties
Serve as a Telecommunications Specialist Communications Security (COMSEC) to oversee and inspect the COMSEC Program within the Maneuver Support Center of Excellence, Homeland Defense/Civil Support Office.
Manage the physical security and accountability of classified communications keying material and equipment within the Civil Support Team Community of Practice, TROJAN Network and Consequence Management Communications Systems (CMCS) domain.
Exercise personnel management responsibilities by assigning various tasks to alternate COMSEC account managers.
Oversees or performs Key Management Infrastructure (KMI) functions, which involve receiving, distributing, issuing, destroying, generating, and ordering of traditional and modern key material in support of mission requirements.
Conduct inspections and training in security procedures for COMSEC for all COMSEC hand receipt holders.
Serve as the MSCoE, HD/CSO Crypto Modernization program manager by providing support in the requisitioning of new COMSEC items for the program.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Employee must obtain and maintain the Standardized Management Client Course (MGC) (Course Number :4C-F60/160-F40).
- Employee must be able to obtain and maintain the Local COMSEC Account.
- This position is covered by the Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program.
- The incumbent is required to sign a DA Form 5019-R (Condition of Employment for Certain Positions Identified as Critical under the Drug Abuse Testing Program) and must pass urinalysis testing.
- Incumbent must pass urinalysis testing as required prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
- A Top Secret Clearance is required for this position.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes managing the physical security and accountability of classified communications material and equipment; and evaluating, analyzing, developing, managing, or improving communications systems, procedures, and requirements that demonstrate knowledge of current developments and trends in communications concepts and technology. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
