Duties
Assist with instructing a variety of group surfing classes for youth and adults. Typical classes involve the supervision of 4 to 40 students in an instructional and recreational setting. Preparation includes lesson planning, equipment inspection and classroom set up. Instruction involves both land and water lectures, demonstration and skills practice.

Qualifications
Minimum three years surfing experience. Teaching skills, either formal or informal are helpful. Must be able to relate well with people and be interested in developing the skills of others. A valid CPR and First Aid Certification is required. This is a mixed position where the incumbent must be able to lift and carry objects up to 45lbs independently and objects over 45lbs with assistance. National and state background checks are required for positions that involve working with youth programs.Must be able to obtain and maintain a National Agency Check with Inquiries and State Criminal History Repository Check (CNACI) background checks which are required for positions that involve working with children under 18 years of age.
